Jacob de Heusch, nephew and student of the landscape painter Willem de Heusch, created landscapes in the Italian style that were influenced by the works of his teacher. A second signed version of this composition is in the collection of the Hermitage, St. Petersburg.
Lot 367 is not the painting sold at Christie’s, Rome on the 1st June 1999.
