A very old round shield in typical form. Made of thick leather (hippopotamus, rhinoceros?). With a high, central shield boss of the same material, concentric circles as decorations, as well as with two star-shaped ornaments made of metal, attached to the backside by means of the leather grip. With old traces of use (sword thrusts?). Two old original repairs made of copper sheet are visible on the edge. 19th century; H: c. 12.5 cm; DM: c. 13 cm. (ME) ASA
