porcelain, cobalt blue body with white meander frieze, 2 white faun heads heightened with gilt and holding yellow metal rings, the neck with gilt cloth festoons, the shoulder with white rim and gilt edging, the base of the body and frame with wide burnished- and matt gilt acanthus leaves and ivy vines, central faun, the facing side with a reserve containing polychrome painted sylvan landscape and castle, as well as 3 mounted huntsmen and a mounted falconer, in the foreground a hunting horn, hat and jerkin, a boy cupbearer, pouring red wine into a goblet, a seated hound, 2 hounds drinking from a brook, on the bottom left inscribed L. Grisér, reverse side with a reserve containing a Romantic sylvan landscape, with farmer, wall and lake, moulded opening, bead frieze, acanthus leaf wreath, the base with laurel wreath, octagonal plinth with fluting and rosettes as well as handles with acanthus leaves and rose garlands in yellow metal, Height: 98 cm, lid finial with small restoration, France, apocryphal Sevres mark, late 19th cent.
