On 1 March 1965, NASA chose the Omega Chronograph as the official watch for its space missions. Put to the test during the Gemini missions, the Speedmaster’s success story began, culminating with the first lunar landing on 21 July 1969, earning it the epithet “Moonwatch”. The present model shows signs of wear in keeping with its age. The glass is partly chipped and the seals are in need of repair.
